Infant Program

Nurturing your child’s needs

Babies grow and change dramatically during their first 18 months. Our program is geared towards both the encouragement and development of each child at his or her own rate. Here are some helpful hints to ensure that both you and your child have a smooth and enjoyable transition to group care especially if you have just enjoyed a one-year leave with your child.
Your child will have a locker in which to store belongings: bags, outdoor wear, and change of clothes. Please remember to label all belongings, as this helps to avoid mix-ups.

As your child progresses through their first year, their eating habits will gradually change. For example, once they begin to use their grasp reflex, we will give them a spoon to hold during feeding times. We begin turning the infants around to face the mirror while eating to help develop their hand to eye coordination. Try this at home!

At approximately 8 to 10 months we start to introduce your child to daycare food, with your signed permission. At 12 months of age, they begin the daycare menu. Speak with your doctor about solids, if you plan to use group child care before the age of 18 months.

Your child will graduate to the Toddler program at 18 months, or when developmentally ready. We begin preparation for this in various ways; we encourage the use of child sized tables and chairs for lunch and activities, push toys and balance bars for children who are showing an interest in walking, as well as a variety of gross motor toys and outdoor play. Peer interaction with older infants becomes more frequent, and most important, plenty of visits with new teachers and children, to make the move more comfortable.

The Best Care

So you don’t have to worry

It is with pleasure that we, the staff in the lnfant program, welcome you and your child to our room. We are committed to our program and we try to respond to the changing needs of each child. You will be leaving your infant in a safe, comfortable environment, designed to stimulate and amuse them during all levels of their development. We encourage full communication between parents and ourselves. Two way communication at this age really supports consistency for your child.

Should you have any questions, concerns, or comments in regard to your child or the program, please feel free to consult any of the teachers.

Our rates include
